- Ethoxylation-
An anionic surfactant that is the main cleaning ingredient in detergents.
Also known as: LAS acid, dodecylbenzene sulphonic acid (DDBSA), linear alkylbenzene sulfonic acid

Linear alkyl benzene sulphonic acid (LABSA) is one of the most widely used anionic surfactants in the world. It is usually neutralised with caustic soda to form sodium alkyl benzene sulphonate (LAS), which serves as the main cleaning ingredient in detergents. Thanks to its high cleaning and foaming power, cost-effectiveness and biodegradability, it is widely used in powder and liquid detergent formulations.
